There are several programs to immigrate to Canada through business immigration, including:

Start Up Visa

The Start-Up Visa Program is an immigration program that targets entrepreneurs who wish to establish innovative and scalable businesses in Canada. To be eligible for this program, applicants need to obtain a letter of support from a designated organization, meet the language requirements, and bring enough money to settle in Canada. Successful applicants can receive funding, guidance, and expertise from private sector organizations in Canada to help them open and operate their enterprise in Canada. This program also offers a pathway to permanent residency and Canadian citizenship.

Canada Start Up Visa Program offers a straightforward path to permanent residency for applicants and their families anywhere in Canada. We manage the entire process, providing support from idea development to business plan writing, market research, funding acquisition, and government-designated organization support. NIMARIA offers strategic guidance at every stage of the process, regardless of the business type.

Provincial Nominee Entrepreneur Programs

The Provincial Nominee Entrepreneur Programs are designed to attract foreign entrepreneurs and investors to specific provinces in Canada. These programs allow provinces to nominate eligible candidates for permanent residency who have the intention and ability to start or operate a business in the province. The specific requirements and criteria vary by province, but generally, candidates must demonstrate a certain level of net worth, business experience, and investment in the province. Once nominated, candidates can apply for permanent residency to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The Provincial Nominee Entrepreneur Programs are a popular option for those looking to immigrate to Canada through business, as they offer a pathway to permanent residency and the opportunity to establish and grow a business in Canada.

Self-Employed Person

The Self-Employed Person program is a Canadian immigration program designed for individuals who have the intention and ability to create their employment and make a significant contribution to the cultural, artistic, or athletic life of Canada. Applicants must have relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics, be able to demonstrate that they have been self-employed, and intend to continue self-employment in Canada. They must also meet the selection criteria for medical, security, and other admissibility requirements. Successful applicants under this program may eventually become permanent residents of Canada.

Investor Visa Programs

A Work Permit via Investor Visa Programs can ultimately result in obtaining Permanent Residency and Citizenship. The process involves investing in or setting up a business in Canada, obtaining a work permit, operating the business for a specific period, and applying for permanent residency.

There are several work permits available for business immigrants in Canada. These include LMIA-based work permits, intra-company transferees, entrepreneur work permits(C11), and start-up visa work permits. Each of these permits has specific requirements and is available based on the individual's background and immigration goals.

Intra-Company Transfer

The Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) program is an immigration pathway that allows qualified foreign business owners to transfer their businesses to Canada and obtain a work permit, eventually leading to permanent residency. Spouses and children may also receive open work and study permits. The program is designed to attract established companies from around the world and has three categories of eligible individuals, including business owners, senior managers, functional managers, and key employees with advanced specialized knowledge.

Entrepreneur Visa C11

The C11 Work Permit program is a pathway for foreign entrepreneurs and investors to obtain a work permit in Canada as self-employed individuals. It is part of the International Mobility Program (IMP) and allows for the initial work permit to be issued for two years and can be extended if the business in Canada is active and profitable. The program also provides a pathway to permanent residency for self-employed entrepreneurs and business owners in Canada.

LMIA Work Permit

LMIA-based work permits are granted to foreign workers who have a job offer from a Canadian employer that has received a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from Employment and Social Development Canada. With work experience gained through this program, foreign workers may become eligible to apply for permanent residency through various immigration programs, such as the Canadian Experience Class or the Provincial Nominee Program. However, having an LMIA-based work permit does not guarantee permanent residency as requirements and eligibility criteria vary depending on the immigration program.

Business Traction Services (BTS)

The Business Traction Services (BTS) is a program designed for Start Up Visa and Work Permit applicants in Canada to help them gain momentum and progress in their businesses. BTS helps applicants validate their products or services and achieve a market fit, which attracts investors and convinces governments and peer review committees of their business's potential. The services provided include market research, website development, email management, postal address in Canada, call answering service, and minimum viable product development. By the end of the program, applicants can demonstrate the actual demand for their business and their dedication as a Start Up founder.

Permanent Residence

The status of a permanent resident is granted to an immigrant who has moved to Canada but is not a Canadian citizen. After arrival and receiving an immigrant visa, a Permanent Resident (PR) Card will be issued within eight weeks. As a permanent resident, you have the right to enjoy most of the social benefits that Canadian citizens do, such as healthcare coverage, and to live, work, or study anywhere in Canada. You can also apply for Canadian citizenship and are protected under Canadian law and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. To maintain your permanent resident status, you must have spent at least 730 days in Canada within a five-year period, and these days need not be continuous. Time spent abroad may count towards the 730 days.

Ctizienship

To be eligible for Canadian citizenship, you must be a Permanent Resident of Canada and have been physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days within the five years prior to submitting your application. There are other conditions that must also be met.
